Each year, the Black Women in Food Summit convenes restaurateurs, food entrepreneurs, and industry experts to discuss the challenges faced by Black women in the food space.
Now in its fourth year, the Summit has grown both in attendance and scope. This video was commissioned to continue that upward trajectory through telling the story of the Summit and the people who are part of it.
As the DP and Editor, I was responsible for executing an ambitious 2-day shoot, which included interviews, verité scene coverage, and a live stage show. I then wove those elements together in the edit, sifting through hours of footage to create a video that was equal parts informative and emotional.
